Books & Written Ephemera
Guy’s chequered career including farm work, six years mainly overseas in Military Intelligence, agriculture and revenue departments of the Civil Service, gave him broad background experience. He has also travelled extensively from Central Asia to Antarctica.
After an early Civil Service retirement, Guy turned hobby to business by becoming a second-hand and antiquarian bookseller in 1987. Retiring from his shop in Bury St Edmunds in 2002, he has since been Lacy Scott & Knight’s rare book consultant.
Guy enjoys long country walks with his wife and their sight hounds. He has a passion for country writers, especially Suffolk farmer author Adrian Bell, and American writer, poet, philosopher and conservationist Wendell Berry (who many have still to discover).
