Accounts Assistant wanted

This is an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Administrator to join our established Auction Centre in Bury St Edmunds town centre on a part time basis dealing with the auction sale accounts.   Working hours are flexible but average 12hrs a week.  The successful candidate must also be available to work Auction sales on Saturdays (23 throughout the calendar year)

 

The Auction Centre is a busy environment to work in, therefore the ideal candidate must be organised, work accurately, have the ability to multi task and posess a ‘can do’ attitude.  We are looking for a friendly, hard working candidate who is computer literate, able to work on their own initiative but can also work as part of our existing great team.  The candidate will be responsible for the allocation of incoming payments for each Auction and perform tasks to help the accounting department run smoothly. 

 

Job Role: 

  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Process incoming payments
  • Cash handling and prepare bank deposits
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Enter financial transactions onto the internal databases accurately (Go Auction and Access Dimensions software – full training will be given)
  • Reception duties when required
  • Helping others in the team with their workload when required

 

 

Key Skills: 

  • Computer literate. A good knowledge of MS Excel is preferred
  • Good arithmetic skills and the ability to spot errors
  • Good attention to detail
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Able to multi task
