To coincide with our 5th October auction of professional and personal effects belonging to ‘Father of British Forensic Science’ Professor Alfred Swaine Taylor - eminent toxicologist, pioneer photographer, and expert witness for countless Victorian poisoning and other murder cases, we are pleased to welcome author Helen Barrell to give a talk regarding this fascinating man's life and career on Wednesday 3rd October at 7pm.

The evening will comprise a talk by Helen Barrell, author of Fatal Evidence: Professor Alfred Swaine Taylor & the Dawn of Forensic Science and Poison Panic: Arsenic Deaths in 1840s Essex, followed by a private view of the Alfred Swaine Taylor family collection auction. Wine and canapes will be served.
