Seven Year Itch

Well at least I think it has!  I'm inspired to write further due to the launch of our new website, for the same reason I was all those years ago.  The new website looks pretty damn good I hope you all agree?  Aside from the standard catalogue listings, it's ease of use and up to date functionality is a dream for any online auction goer.  The easy to navigate homepage will very quickly take you where you want to go and you can even set up your own user account and tailor it to your needs.  We're forward thinking at LS&K, so much so that we have truly entered the 21st century!

We have a very busy calender of sales over the next couple of months, including two additional single owner sales.  The first is an exciting lifetime Collectors' sale which kicks off three days worth of sales, running 14-16th June.  The second includes the contents of Bridlepath (over 800 lots) including horse tack, Barbour jackets & Wellington boots.  This sale is on Friday 6th July and our most senior member of staff Edward Crichton can't wait to take the whole sale, without any breaks!

Away from the saleroom (yes there is world out there), there is some ginger bloke getting hitched to a well heeled American woman tomorrow but I'm sure you'll all agree that a far more important football match takes precedent.  The FA Cup final of course, being contested by two of the least liked clubs in the country; Man Utd & Chelsea.  If only both could lose?  For what it's worth my money is on Man Utd to squeak it.  I may even get to watch the second half, being otherwise occupied with a mammouth Collectors Models sale tomorrow, with only the 2000 lots to get through.

In other sporting news our illustrious national team manager Gareth Southgate has named his squad for the upcoming World Cup.  He's gone with players on form and for that reason alone the squad selection can only be taken as a positive.  My colleague Alex Manning (an eternal optimist) believes we will bring home the trophy and I for one can't wait for him to be proved correct in two months time!

It's 52 years since our last World Cup win and 7 years since my last blog.  Let's hope we don't have to wait quite so long next time...

Shaun
